AVIATION CAREERS

“Aviation Careers” is a web-based tool to enable ready access to careers information and advice, and aims to become the first point of call for anyone entering the aviation industry.

Set up by the Aviation Industry Association, (AIA) it is designed to take information on aviation-orientated careers and advice from people already involved with the industry, and integrate that with the various requirements for employment to provide those new to the industry with the best possible expectation of what they will find.

“Aviation Careers” is progressing well towards its goal of providing information on all professions associated with the aviation industry with the Air Traffic Control career option now joining the Pilot career option on the website. The further career options that will be developed include:
- Aircraft, Aeronautical and Avionics Engineers.
- Airport Maintenance Worker,
- Flight Attendant,
- Aviation Management
- Aircraft Loader/Cleaner,
- Aircraft Refueller,

Other planned developments to the “Aviation Careers” website will include an industry forum where people can discuss various developments in the industry, ask questions of those more experienced in aviation and generally keep an ear to the ground about potential job vacancies. “Aviation Careers” also aims to assist those in the industry in finding employment in their field by becoming the first point of contact for employers looking to fill a vacancy within their organisation by allowing members to create a profile that can be searched by employers.

“Aviation Careers” can be found online at www.aviationcareers.co.nz. Should you require information on career pathways not yet developed, or have any suggestions on how we might improve the website, contact the Aviation Industry Association at www.aia.org.nz.
