Aviation Risk Management Course

Course Overview:
This three days course in Aviation Risk Management is designed specifically for aviation organisations. This course will present leading concepts in risk management, give participants the practical skills and knowledge required and present them a model to apply the risk management process within the context of aviation orientated scenarios. Participants will become familiar with risk management philosophy, practice and process. It caters for all risk areas within the aviation industry including safety, reputation, operations, security, engineering and the environment. The course will enable participants to conduct risk assessments and develop a qualitative risk assessment or risk management plan on any activity, project, task or function within their unit. The course will take the concept of risk management from an introductory stage to a more defined implementation function.

Background to the Course:
Managing risk is part of day to day business. The aviation industry has long been key supporters of managing risk. The issue of aviation safety is a global one that is increasing in urgency. Risk management is a component of the system safety process which considers all elements of programme management, planning and implementation to continuously improve operational safety. Working toward a goal of zero accidents empowers all participants to eliminate hazards or mitigate risk to acceptable levels. Risk management can be used to manage a range of different risks and is therefore an important piece in the effectiveness of service delivery. Aerosafe Risk Management is a leading provider of risk management training globally.

Course Outcomes:
At the end of this course, participants will be able to develop a venture risk management plan on a key area of growth and change within the organisation. In addition to this participants will be familiar with the risk management process to be able to prepare risk assessments & develop risk management plans on any project for decision makers, leaders & regulators. Participants of this course will also be positioned to take the concepts learned during the course back to their company to assist in enhancing a positive safety and risk culture.

All units are supported with high quality course material, trainee workbooks, assessment guides or workplace assessment tasks. Each participant will receive a comprehensive resource pack which would include a program overview and a trainee guide. Participants will also receive a certificate of attendance at the end of the course.

Accreditation against National Diplomas:
Participants completing this three day course in Aviation Risk Management will qualify for a pathway and earn credit towards the National Diploma in Risk Management, Safety Management or Regulatory Oversight and Governance.
