LPV Baggage Trolley

Our prototype LPV Baggage Trolley has been air freighted up to Honiara to start it's working career with Solomon Airlines.

The trolley was designed by Flight GSE Ltd to fill a need in the South Pacific for those isolated and often rudimentary airfields that are being serviced by smaller aircraft such as BN Islanders, Gippsland Airvans' and Pac750XStols. We believe there is little sense in having an standard sized industry baggage trolley in service at these fields, when the aircraft are carrying much smaller loads of passengers and cargo.

Our LPV ( Low Passenger Volume) Trolley has a deck area half the size of a standard trolley for around half the price of it's full size ramp mate, yet has features in common with it's big brothers including:

  • Hot Dip Galvanised Steel Chassis,
  • Electo-galvanised and powder coated end gates
  • Aluminium Deck ( in this case tread plate instead of our purpose designed lock together extrusion )
  • Powder coated Tow Bar
  • Simply but effective braking system
  • Company Branding as required
  • Reflectors front and rear
  • Front and Rear tow couplings

This first unit has been donated to Solomon Airlines who assure us it will get a rigorous testing.

Since starting this design process we have had interest from three other airlines in this concept, and feel we've come up with a neat solution to a niche gap in the marketplace that is proudly Kiwi designed and manufactured. Interestingly, we're also getting some interest in this as a product that will work well for FBO's and Business Jet operators.
