New Zealand has a small but dynamic aviation services sector which provides a range of consultancy and project services to airport and airline customers around the world.
New Zealand has considerable airport design and build experience with companies such as Beca Airports operational throughout Australia and the South Pacific and WalkerS&T moving outside this part of the World and into India. Redesign Interior Architecture is also involved in project work in India and parts of Southeast Asia.
Companies such as BCS and Glidepath are providing baggage and freight handling systems to airports around the globe.
Companies such as Aviation Labour Group, CTC Aviation and Rishworth Aviation provide short and long term staffing solutions covering engineers, technical staff, cabin crew and pilots.
There is a diverse range of consultancy capabilities in New Zealand. These include risk and safety management systems (Superstructure Group has over 110 customers operating more than 5000 aircraft across 50 countries), supply chain development and optimisation, strategic and operational planning for airlines and airports, fleet optimisation, leasing, contract negotiation, feasibility studies and market research.
Several of the service companies combine their capabilities to provide more appropriate solutions to customers. This also allows them to undertake work beyond the competence of individual companies. These companies also have some strong international connections in place.
