Our purpose is to maximise the benefits from UAV technologies and develop a world-class UAV industry in New Zealand. Via:
Connecting: suppliers and customers, hosting forums and networking events
Promoting: UAV companies and services, the benefits of UAV technology and safe and professional operating practices
Supporting: companies by providing templates and standards, engaging with CAA and the wider aviation industry
The industry came together to achieve a cohesive and informed response to the proposed interim CAA regulation changes in December 2013. To keep the ball rolling following that joint submission to the CAA, a UAVNZ start-up group was created. This group was based on expressions of interest and an effort to cover a range of industry sectors. The aim was to solidify the organisation and define some short to mid-term objectives to support and grow New Zealand’s UAV industry.
UAVNZ includes: operators, manufacturers, researchers, Airways, Callaghan Innovation, and customers. Basically anyone focussed on UAV industry growth.
The executive committee is:
Chairman: Chris Thomson, Callaghan Innovation.
Committee: Kelvin Barnsdale - Canterbury University, Barbara Breen – AUT, Linda Bulk – Aeronavics, Bruce Clarke - Incredible Images, Andy Grant - ASG E-Guard, Richard Longley - AON Insurance, Phillip Solaris - X-Craft, Mark Stretch - Airways NZ and Richard Milner - HFT Aerospace,
