AVIATION INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION OF NEW ZEALAND

Divisions

Airports

Membership of the AIA is open to airports who are seen to be an integral part of the aviation infrastructure in this country. All key general aviation (GA) airports belong to the Division, along with a number of the smaller to medium-sized facilities.

Presently AIA is working on:
  • Wild life hazard management and in particular Canada geese and black swan
  • The introduction of safety management systems
  • Formation of user groups to assist the redevelopment of GA infrastructure at a number of the larger airports
  • Protection of airports and heliports under regional plans
  • The rewrite of Rule Part 139 in-so-far as it affects our members
  • The review of aviation security at regional airports.
