The AIA is actively engaged in a number of projects affecting industry as listed below:
- Ground power supply to aircraft - development of new Standard
- New Zealand Helicopter Association launched
- Safety committee - across-industry safety committee up and running
- Safety recognition awards – across-industry safety recognition awards
- Canada geese/black swan - legislative change to recognise concerns to aviation
- New membership strategic alliances - alliances that are of direct benefit to members
- Pilot training funding - removal of the freeze on training and numbers
- GA meteorological - provision of free meteorological information for operators below 10,000 feet
- DoC relationship - development of coherent use and procedures strategy for DoC lands
- Remuneration survey - survey of industry-wide salaries and conditions
- Aircraft overhaul and maintenance provisions – proposal to revise existing IRD rules
- Safety management systems introduced
